The U.S. Navy has resumed its operations to assist ships navigating the Strait of Hormuz, according to U.S. military officials. According to Odaily, a Greek-flagged supertanker carrying 2 million barrels of crude oil received guidance from the U.S. Navy while traversing waters near the coast of Oman. The vessel, which had been stranded in the Middle East Gulf since early March, is now en route to India to deliver its cargo.
This escort operation marks the relaunch of the 'Freedom Plan,' an initiative previously introduced by the U.S. to guide ships through this critical maritime passage. The plan was initially halted approximately 36 hours after its commencement. Officials have indicated that the U.S. Navy intends to assist around a dozen vessels, including supertankers and container ships, in navigating these waters in the coming days.
