A South Korean financial employee in their 20s has been sentenced to three years in prison for embezzling company funds to invest in cryptocurrency. According to ChainCatcher, the Busan District Court found the individual guilty of transferring company money into a personal account approximately 680 times between 2021 and 2025. The total amount embezzled was around 570 million Korean won, which was used for cryptocurrency trading, overseas travel, and personal expenses. The employee also forged company deposit trust balance certificates to conceal the crime.
