Ripple reiterated that it has no plans for an IPO at this time, stating that it will remain private and focus on business expansion.
Ripple President Monica Long stated that the company currently has no plans to pursue an initial public offering (IPO), will continue to operate privately, and will focus on growth through product development and mergers and acquisitions. She pointed out that Ripple's current financial situation is sound, and it does not need to go public to obtain liquidity from the capital markets, possessing the ability to continue investing in the company's development. Long's statement comes after Ripple completed a funding round of approximately $500 million in November 2025, valuing the company at approximately $40 billion. Investors included Fortress Investment Group, Citadel Securities, and several crypto-related funds. Regarding the investor protection mechanisms involved in the funding terms, she only stated that the overall structure was favorable to Ripple, without elaborating on the specific details. The report also mentioned that Ripple completed several acquisitions in 2025, including prime brokerage Hidden Road, stablecoin payment platform Rail, treasury management system GTreasury, and digital asset wallet and custody company Palisade, with a total acquisition value approaching $4 billion. Ripple disclosed that as of November last year, its payment business had processed over $95 billion in transactions, and its related products are continuing to expand around enterprise-grade digital asset infrastructure. Polymarket Faces Backlash Over Venezuela Invasion Bet
Polymarket Faces Backlash Over Venezuela Invasion Bet
According to BlockBeats, prediction market Polymarket is under fire after refusing to pay out bets related to a potential U.S. invasion of Venezuela. The company stated that recent events did not constitute an 'invasion.' As per Polymarket's website, the prediction that the U.S. would invade Venezuela by December 31 was deemed false, with the trading volume reaching $2.76 million. An anonymous user questioned on Polymarket's site, "What exactly counts as an invasion?" and labeled the company as "Polyscam." Another user criticized Polymarket for arbitrary decisions, arguing that words are being redefined and facts ignored. They expressed disbelief that a military invasion, the kidnapping of a country's leader, and a takeover were not considered an invasion. Another user sarcastically asked if it was a joke, while one questioned if the lack of casualties and the swift nature of the action meant it wasn't an invasion. The New York Times cited a Venezuelan official stating the raid resulted in 80 deaths. Polymarket explained on its website that the market referred to a U.S. military action aimed at establishing control. U.S. President Donald Trump's comments about "running" Venezuela during negotiations with its government were not enough to classify the operation to capture Maduro as an invasion. MarketWatch sought clarification from Polymarket but received no response. Attempts to contact its founder and CEO, Shayne Coplan, also went unanswered.
