Stripe and Paradigm Launch Public Testing for Blockchain Project Tempo

According to ChainCatcher, Stripe Inc. and crypto venture firm Paradigm have initiated public testing for their collaborative blockchain project, Tempo. The network is now accessible to companies interested in developing real-world stablecoin payment applications. Tempo aims to simplify the acceptance of stablecoin payments by offering a streamlined plug-and-play experience. It addresses the issue of rising transaction costs due to network congestion by establishing a dedicated payment channel separate from other network components. The fee structure for Tempo is set at a fixed rate, with each payment transaction costing 0.1 cents. New partners joining Tempo include financial institutions UBS, Cross River Bank, and prediction market operator Kalshi Inc. Existing partners already involved are Deutsche Bank, Nubank, AI startup OpenAI, and Anthropic. Matt Huang, co-founder and managing partner at Paradigm and head of the Tempo project, expressed the intention to bridge the experience gap for developers considering practical use cases for stablecoins.
