According to PANews, during a CoinDesk event focused on policy and regulation, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Commissioner Hester Peirce cautioned that securities laws do not offer protection in all areas. She stated, "Don't assume that if you purchase a meme coin and its value drops, the SEC will step in to rescue you."
