Crusoe Energy Nears $500 Million Equity Financing Led By Founders Fund

According to BlockBeats, AI infrastructure company Crusoe Energy is on the verge of completing approximately $500 million in equity financing, led by billionaire Peter Thiel's Founders Fund. This round of financing will elevate the company's valuation to $3 billion, doubling its value from two years ago. Just weeks prior, Crusoe Energy announced a $3.4 billion joint venture with Lancium Clean Campus to build data centers in Texas. Crusoe Energy had already secured $200 million in funding by the end of 2023 and acquired thousands of Nvidia H100 GPUs. According to a PitchBook report, 40% of the $93 billion total venture capital expenditure in the first half of 2024 was directed towards AI companies. Founders Fund has been involved in Crusoe Energy's financing since its seed round in 2019 and has also invested in OpenAI, which is valued at over $157 billion.
