CZ Dismisses Claims Binance Hack Was Predicted, Calls Chat Screenshot Fake

Binance founder and former CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) rejected claims circulating online that the exchange's recent hack had been predicted in advance. He said a chat screenshot linking him to one of the alleged predictions was fabricated. "Screenshots and videos are easy to fake," CZ wrote on X. "The chat in image 3 is fake. I can't verify the other claims." "People who can predict the future would trade bitcoin or use prediction markets to make money, they won't be small accounts posting on X," he added. CZ was replying to an X user's post about viral claims that some accounts had predicted the hack, one allegedly naming the exact date. The post also cited a screenshot that purportedly showed CZ trying to contact one of them.
