Trump, Vance Cancel Planned Appearances in Final Days of Midterm Campaign

According to CNBC, President Donald Trump canceled weekend rallies in Kansas and Iowa, while Vice President JD Vance called off a Friday news conference in St. Cloud, Minnesota, in the final days of the midterm campaign. Trump will instead hold phone rallies as part of a 72-hour sprint expected to reach at least 19 states, the Republican National Committee said; he had planned to visit 35 locations during the campaign blitz. An NBC News average of national polls showed 52% of surveyed Americans preferred Democratic control of Congress, compared with 43% who favored Republican control.
