A recent commit in Lighter's prover codebase titled "Binary options support" appears to describe ZK circuits for markets with capped settlement values, according to a post on September 21 by X user @UngusTrade. According to ChainCatcher, the code indicates standard binary outcome contracts are fully collateralized in USDC, with no leverage or liquidations, and share prices trading between zero and the market cap before settling at either zero or the cap.
The code also suggests support for continuous markets that can settle at any value within a range, which would allow contracts based on measured values rather than only yes-or-no events. It further indicates that Lighter may allow whitelisted operators to create, manage, and settle markets in a model similar to HIP-3 deployments. Lighter had not commented on the matter at the time of the post.
