Two addresses linked to Hyperliquid ecosystem builder NMTD placed AVAX ladder sell orders at the same minute on the morning of September 20, according to TradingBeats monitoring. According to BlockBeats On-chain Detection, the addresses still had about $13.866 million in pending orders at the time of reporting.
AVAX on Hyperliquid was trading at about $9.55, up roughly 11.6% over the past 24 hours. It briefly reached $10.82 earlier in the morning before pulling back, leaving the price about 11.8% below that high.
Order history suggests the strategy was to build short positions in stages after AVAX moved above $10. The two addresses, 0xf517 and 0xb1ec, placed orders about 17 seconds apart, starting at $10.20 and $10.15 respectively, with 100 laddered sell orders each.
From February to May, AVAX traded mostly between $8.5 and $10.5, with 117 of 120 daily candles closing inside that range. The $10.5 area repeatedly acted as resistance.
The report said the short entries matched earlier rebound highs in AVAX history. Within that range, 20 large addresses built positions with an average entry price concentrated around $100,000, totaling about $5.396 million and accounting for 23.4% of Hyperliquid market positions. Long positions made up about $1.734 million, while short positions totaled about $3.662 million, equal to 7.5% and 15.9% of open interest, respectively.
As AVAX continued to rise, lower-priced sell orders were gradually filled. NMTD's two addresses had cumulatively opened about $289,500 in short positions on the day, with part of 0xf517 already covered. Together, they held about $240,400 in AVAX shorts, with an unrealized profit of about $24,500. Their average entry prices were about $10.50 and $10.54.
The remaining short plan extends to higher levels, including about $5.081 million between $10.83 and $15, and about $8.785 million between $10.84 and $17. The public labels for 0xf517 are thankjeff.eth and HyBridge: Deployer. The report said 0xb1ec has verified on-chain transfers with the address, but its ownership has not been confirmed.
