STOCKS | Joby Completes First Fully Autonomous Coast-to-Coast Flight

Joby Aviation said an aircraft using its technology completed the company’s first fully autonomous flight across the United States. According to Sina Finance, the flight covered 3,199 miles, and the onboard safety pilot made no control inputs during autonomous taxiing, takeoff, cruise, and landing under remote supervision. The company said the flight supports its plan to pair an autonomous flight system with an already certified airframe to scale autonomous aviation logistics. Joby CEO JoeBen Bevirt said the flight offered a glimpse of a new era for aviation and said autonomous technology will play an important role in future aviation.
