Binance to Support USDT Contract Swap on the Optimism Network

According to the announcement from Binance, the exchange will support a USDT contract swap on the Optimism network. Deposits and withdrawals of USDT via the Optimism network will be suspended at 2026-09-17 02:00 (UTC). Binance said users should allow enough time for deposits to be fully processed before that time. After the swap is completed, the old USDT token via the Optimism network will assume the ticker OPUSDTE. Binance also said it will make a separate announcement when deposits and withdrawals resume. Spot, Margin, Futures trading, and Binance Earn services will not be affected during the contract swap, and Binance will handle the technical requirements for users involved in the event. Contract Swap Details: The swap will be conducted at a ratio of 1:1. The new USDT token via the Optimism network will use the ticker USDT0, while the old USDT token via the previous Optimism network will use the ticker OPUSDTE. Binance stated that the technical process will be managed by the exchange for affected users.
