According to Odaily, he said alignment is central to that promise and that the industry must make rapid progress on alignment as AI capabilities grow quickly. Wang said the industry is at a critical moment and that achieving a future in which AI truly benefits everyone requires careful and thoughtful action during this period. He was responding to recent comments from Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, who said the company will adopt new safety measures, including third-party evaluators, and called on the industry to support broader efforts to slow AI model development. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said he would adopt Amodei's suggestion to give independent evaluators access similar to that of employees, while Elon Musk, who runs xAI, said, "Dario is right."
