FTX Founder SBF Appeals to U.S. Supreme Court Over $11 Billion Forfeiture Order

FTX founder SBF has appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, seeking a new trial and the removal of an approximately $11 billion forfeiture order tied to his sentence. According to Foresight News, the defense argued that evidence was improperly admitted at trial, that he should have been allowed to show the investments ultimately remained sound and could cover FTX customer losses, and that the forfeiture amount violates the Constitution's Eighth Amendment ban on excessive fines. The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the appeal later this year.
