ICE Raw Sugar Futures Extend Gains on Strong Indian Import Demand

According to Wallstreetcn, ICE raw sugar futures extended their gains to 18.73 cents per pound at 18:25 (UTC+8), up more than 1.79% and the highest intraday level since March 2025, as strong Indian import demand and delays in Brazil's crushing progress supported prices. Since the Indian government opened import quotas, Indian sugar mills have applied to import nearly 800,000 metric tons of raw sugar, about 80% of the total quota, while raw sugar prices have risen about 30% this year and the International Sugar Organization forecasts a global supply deficit as the market outlook for the 2026-27 crushing season shifts from surplus to shortage.
