South Korea Adds 184,000 Jobs in August, Fastest Pace in Five Months

According to The Korea Herald, South Korea added 184,000 jobs in August from a year earlier, the fastest increase in five months, as the number of employed people rose to 29.15 million from 28.96 million a year earlier, government data showed Wednesday. The Ministry of Data and Statistics said the labor market posted gains for a third straight month, even as manufacturing remained sluggish. Job growth turned positive again in June after employment fell by 40,000 in May.
