Bank of China Hong Kong said its green and sustainable-related loans rose 33.5% year on year last year, helped by wind and solar energy assets as well as projects in production and transport, according to ETNet.
Vice President Wang Huabin said the group will continue working with corporate and individual customers in Southeast Asia, mainland China and Hong Kong to support the green transition.
Separately, General Manager of Personal Financial Products Chow Kwok-cheong said green finance business continued to grow in the first half, with ESG investment fund business up more than 100% year on year and net green mortgage and personal loan balances up fourfold. He added that more work is needed to turn green finance products into concrete action and broader adoption, and said the bank will keep improving related products including green loans and mortgages.
