UBS has launched a sandbox test for a Swiss franc stablecoin with PostFinance, Sygnum, Raiffeisen, Zurich Cantonal Bank, BCV, SIX, TWINT, and Swiss Stablecoin AG. According to Odaily, the CHFD stablecoin went live technically in the sandbox environment at the end of June and is pegged 1:1 to the Swiss franc.
The test will run through the end of 2026 and will focus on use cases including automated interbank transactions, tokenized settlement of digital assets, and programmable payments. UBS said the test is intended to build technical, operational, and regulatory experience and does not mean it has decided to launch a Swiss franc stablecoin.
