Hong Kong's half-day short selling turnover reached HK$15.882 billion, accounting for 15.13% of total market turnover of HK$104.984 billion, with 796 stocks sold short, according to ETNet.
Xiaomi had the largest short selling turnover at HK$1.484 billion, or 9.34% of the total, equal to 51.89% of its own turnover. Southern Hang Seng Tech had HK$975 million in short selling, or 6.14% of the total, equal to 25.2% of its own turnover.
Tracker Fund of Hong Kong recorded HK$592 million in short selling, while Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable had HK$534 million. Xiaomi closed at HK$26.84, down 2.4%; Southern Hang Seng Tech closed at HK$4.392, down 1.04%; Tracker Fund of Hong Kong closed at HK$25.92, down 0.31%; and Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable closed at HK$178.3, up 1.77%.
