According to CNBC, the political group associated with President Donald Trump is spending $10 million on television and digital advertisements in the Texas Senate race, according to a Saturday filing with the Federal Election Commission. The spending is MAGA, Inc.'s first major outlay in a general election contest and comes as Republican Ken Paxton faces Democrat James Talarico in a race that Trump has backed with his endorsement of Paxton over Sen. John Cornyn in a May primary runoff. The ads focus on taxes and seek to portray Talarico as favoring broader tax increases, while saying Paxton would provide tax breaks for first-time homebuyers and families with children. Trump said Friday he would spend whatever amount of money was necessary to help Republicans and said the funds were his to use separately from money controlled by the Republican National Committee.
