Thailand Suspends Construction of 49 Data Center Projects

Thailand's government has ordered construction on 49 data center projects to be suspended pending new regulations for the industry. According to Sina Finance, Danucha Pichayanan, secretary-general of Thailand's National Economic and Social Development Council, said at a Friday news conference that the pause is needed while the government drafts new regulatory rules and regulations for existing data centers and those set to begin operations. According to Sina Finance, Thailand's data center regulatory committee, chaired by the finance minister, held its first meeting on Friday. Danucha said the committee expects to announce new rules for data center companies within one month.
