STOCKS | Birla Unit’s Buyout Loan Attracts $2.5 Billion in Bids

A unit of Indian billionaire Kumar Mangalam Birla’s conglomerate has received as much as 240 billion rupees, or $2.5 billion, in commitments from at least four banks for an acquisition loan, according to people familiar with the matter. The amount is about 70% more than the unit had planned to raise, Bloomberg reported.
