BYD's H-shares fell 0.4% to HK$91.55 after the company reported first-half net profit of RMB 12.325 billion for the six months ended June 30, 2026, down 20.5% year on year, according to ETNet. The company said it will not pay an interim dividend.
Excluding the first quarter, second-quarter net profit was about RMB 8.2 billion, up 30% from a year earlier and ending four straight quarters of profit declines, though still below market expectations for a 48% increase. Revenue fell 7.1% to RMB 344.815 billion, while gross profit declined 2.8% to RMB 64.989 billion. Gross margin edged up 0.84 percentage point to 18.85%, and overseas gross margin reached 22%.
BYD said total new-energy vehicle sales reached 1.81 million units in the period, while new-energy vehicle exports rose 67.8% to 792,000 units.
