Samsung's HBM4 Lead Could Benefit Broadcom's Jalapeño Supply Chain

SemiAnalysis said in its latest podcast that SK Hynix and Micron have faced challenges in reaching the highest HBM4 speeds, and SK Hynix had to redesign its base chip, delaying HBM4 deliveries to NVIDIA's Rubin platform. According to ChainCatcher, Samsung currently has the best HBM4 technology, while Broadcom has traditionally relied heavily on Samsung for HBM supply. Samsung's weaker performance in the HBM3E generation had been a disadvantage for Broadcom's ASIC business, but its current HBM4 lead over rivals has turned that same supply-chain relationship into an advantage for Jalapeño.
