CLARITY Act Expands Protections for Self-Custody, Bitcoin News Says

Bitcoin News said on X that the final text of the CLARITY Act released on Wednesday expands protections for self-custody. According to Odaily, the bill retains the Keep Your Coins Act, which protects individuals' rights to hold and trade their own digital assets. It also adds a provision stating that lawfully self-custodied assets cannot be deemed abandoned, unclaimed, forfeitable, or subject to state escheat solely because they are inactive or dormant.
