England defender Jarell Quansah has been suspended for two matches by FIFA after his straight red card in Sunday's World Cup Round of 16 win over Mexico, according to Yahoo Sports. Quansah was sent off in the second half for a high challenge on Mexico defender Jesús Gallardo as England held on for a 3-2 victory to reach the quarter-finals. FIFA's Disciplinary Committee said the challenge warranted an extra match beyond the automatic one-game ban for a straight red, meaning the Bayer Leverkusen player will miss England's quarter-final against Norway and, if Thomas Tuchel's side advance, the semi-final.
