According to Lianhe Zaobao citing AFP, an explosion at a fireworks factory in Italy on Wednesday, July 8, killed two people in Rieti province, about 70 kilometers northeast of Rome. A local fire department spokesperson said the bodies of a man and a woman were found in the factory’s rubble. Italian media reported one victim was a factory employee, while the other was a woman who was nearby at the time of the blast. The report said the explosion occurred in an annex building used to store gunpowder; the same factory saw an explosion in July 2023 that killed three people.
