Florida independent gubernatorial candidate Frank J. Russo said he will accept cryptocurrency donations for his 2026 campaign, making him the first candidate in the state’s 2026 governor election to do so. According to Foresight News, Russo said all crypto contributions will comply with existing federal and state campaign finance laws.
Russo previously outlined plans at the Consensus conference to position Florida as a leader in blockchain and digital asset investment. He said the initiative would seek to attract blockchain companies, fintech startups, and Web3 entrepreneurs to the state, and to steer state-level investment toward emerging technology sectors.
