Gold’s medium-term outlook remains slightly constructive, according to a strategist at DBS Group Research.
According to Jin10, Sherilyn Chew, a multi-asset strategist at DBS Group Research, said Hong Kong’s launch of a trial for gold clearing infrastructure has reinforced a broader theme of sustained interest in gold across Asia and should help deepen market accessibility across the region over time.
Chew also said that amid discussions about de-dollarization, China’s central bank will continue increasing its gold holdings, highlighting ongoing demand from the official sector.
She said these two factors support a floor for medium-term demand for gold.
