Variational to Launch Swaps in Q3 to Bring Traditional Finance Liquidity On-Chain

Decentralized derivatives trading protocol Variational plans to launch swap contracts in the third quarter as part of an effort to bring traditional financial institution liquidity into on-chain markets. According to Foresight News, the project said it has signed partnership agreements to support the swaps market with more than $1 billion in open interest (OI) capacity. Variational said it has begun connecting traditional finance liquidity to perpetual contract markets tied to gold, silver, and WTI crude oil, and reported that related trading spreads have narrowed by more than 20%. Foresight News previously reported, citing Fortune magazine, that Variational completed a $50 million Series A financing round in May this year, led by Dragonfly Capital.
