China’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security has set a 2026 enrollment target of 1.25 million students for technical schools.
According to Jin10, the ministry recently issued a notice specifying the target for program-based admissions at technical schools.
Local technical schools will recruit and train key groups, including rural workers seeking to transfer to non-farm employment, university graduates who have left school but remain unemployed, registered unemployed people, and those facing employment difficulties.
Training will be organized around market demand and occupational skill requirements in重点 areas including artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, the low-altitude economy, new energy vehicles, and elderly care and health services.
