Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said Ethereum is preparing its “biggest rebuild” since the 2022 Merge, outlining a multi-year “Lean Ethereum” plan to replace nearly every major part of the protocol while minimizing disruption to existing apps. According to CoinDesk, a revised roadmap prioritizes quantum resistance and makes privacy a “first-class goal,” with plans to use recursive STARKs for verification, redesign state to scale storage, and potentially move beyond the EVM toward RISC-V.
