China’s leading fluorochemical companies are accelerating investment in fluorinated new materials to build a “second growth curve,” Everbright Securities said in a research note on July 5, according to Jiemian News. The note said high-purity (such as G5-grade) electronic-grade hydrofluoric acid is a key wet electronic chemical for chip manufacturing and was long dominated by Japanese and US suppliers, but Chinese companies have recently broken through ultra-clean, high-purity process bottlenecks using integrated supply-chain advantages. It added that electronic-grade hydrofluoric acid has passed stringent certifications by top domestic and overseas wafer foundries and has entered a phase of scaled-up volume growth.
Everbright Securities also said rising computing demand from AI, high-performance computing and hyperscale data centers is increasing heat density, making liquid cooling a preferred solution in high power-density scenarios. The note said fluorochemical companies are expanding into high-performance fluorinated coolants such as perfluoropolyether (PFPE), citing their insulating, non-flammable and thermal-management properties for immersion liquid-cooling applications.
