More than 700 A-share listed companies had carried out share buybacks this year as of July 1, with total repurchases reaching CNY 66.175 billion, according to 36Kr, citing Databao statistics. Nine companies, including Midea Group, BOE A and SF Holding, each repurchased more than CNY 1 billion worth of shares year to date, while more than 100 stocks exceeded CNY 100 million in buybacks.
Midea Group ranked first with CNY 4.939 billion in cumulative buybacks, followed by BOE A and SF Holding, both with more than CNY 4 billion. Among companies with over CNY 1 billion in buybacks, seven had latest market capitalizations above CNY 100 billion, spanning sectors such as baijiu, home appliances, nonferrous metals and logistics. Stocks with buybacks above CNY 100 million were mostly higher-dividend value names, with 32 showing dividend yields above 3%; Nanshan Aluminum’s dividend yield was close to 11%, the highest in the group.
