Ripple received preliminary Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) approval from Luxembourg’s financial regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), on June 23 through a Green Light Letter.
According to NS3.AI, the conditional approval is linked to Ripple’s electronic money institution (EMI) license in Luxembourg and comes ahead of the July 1 deadline for full authorization under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework.
Ripple still needs to demonstrate that its Luxembourg entity can operate crypto-related services, including payments, custody, transfers, and stablecoin services, before it can obtain full MiCA authorization.
