Hang Seng Index Falls 1.43%; Southbound Funds Post HK$8.874 Billion Net Outflow

Hong Kong stocks closed lower, with the Hang Seng Index down 1.43% and the Hang Seng Tech Index down 1.63%, according to 36Kr. Tech and Apple-related names led declines, with Sunny Optical Technology falling more than 10% and Alibaba dropping more than 4%. Gold and jewelry stocks also weakened, with Laopu Gold down more than 8%. Semiconductor and optical module shares outperformed, including GigaDevice up more than 12%, Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable up more than 10%, and Montage Technology up more than 6%. Southbound funds recorded a net outflow of HK$8.874 billion.
