Rep. Barry Moore won the second-round Republican primary runoff for Alabama’s vacant U.S. Senate seat, defeating Jared Hudson, according to a disclosure by crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett.
According to Foresight News, Moore received an endorsement from U.S. President Donald Trump and support from crypto-industry funding.
Crypto-industry lobbying group Fairshake spent more than $12 million on the race. After the result, Fairshake said it had made its largest investment of the election cycle and described the win as adding another senator supportive of industry innovation.
Fairshake also said it held nearly $150 million in cash and would continue efforts to build what it called the largest group of crypto-friendly lawmakers.
