Hyperliquid saw about $11.5 million in TWAP spot net buying over the past 24 hours as HYPE rebounded intraday on June 12. According to BlockBeats On-chain Detection, monitoring data from Hyperinsight indicated sustained accumulation through 10 addresses linked to a wallet suspected of being associated with a16z. The data also showed a whale planning to buy 83,000 HYPE, marking the largest single TWAP buy order during the period. The whale previously held an approximately $2.4 million short position on Hyperliquid. As HYPE rebounded, the position’s unrealized loss reportedly widened to about $660,000, or -152%, exceeding the initial position principal. To hedge risk, the address was reported to be planning to buy spot while increasing its short position to average down costs, with the total short exposure expected to expand to about $7.33 million.
