This could potentially be the largest fine issued under the DMA. The investigation, which began in March 2025, focuses on whether Google has been prioritizing its own services in search results, thereby undermining fair market competition. The European Commission has stated that its primary goal is to ensure compliance rather than simply penalize companies. However, if Google's proposed adjustments do not meet regulatory standards, enforcement actions will continue.
