A circular distributed among International Maritime Organization member states reveals that Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates have recently sent a letter to the organization opposing Iran's establishment of the 'Persian Gulf Strait Management Authority' and the issuance of related navigational notices. According to Odaily, the statement from the five countries indicates their refusal to use the Iranian-designated routes and to engage with Iran's 'Persian Gulf Strait Management Authority.' Additionally, they oppose the inclusion of Iranian routes and the related management authority within the framework of the International Maritime Organization for the safe evacuation of distressed merchant ships.
