AI recruitment startup Dex has announced the completion of a $5.3 million seed funding round, led by Notion Capital. According to ChainCatcher, other participants included a16z Speedrun, Concept Ventures, and angel investors from OpenAI and other companies, bringing Dex's total funding to $8.4 million.
Founded by former Atomico advisor Paddy Lambros, Dex positions itself as an 'AI talent agency,' focusing on high-end technical talent such as AI researchers and software engineers. The platform currently has over 15,000 registered engineers and serves more than 50 tech companies, including ElevenLabs and Synthesia. Dex interacts with job seekers through voice or text, using models from OpenAI and Anthropic to build candidate profiles, which are then matched directly with employers.
Unlike traditional software sales, Dex charges a fee of 20%-30% of the candidate's salary upon successful recruitment. The company reported an annualized revenue of approximately $1.8 million since it began charging fees at the end of 2025, with expectations to achieve profitability within the year.
