Iran's semi-official Tasnim News Agency has reiterated concerns about the vulnerability of undersea data cables in the Gulf region. According to Odaily, the agency reported on Wednesday that Gulf Arab nations could face risks of cable disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. The report highlighted that simultaneous damage to multiple key cables, whether due to accidents or deliberate actions, could lead to significant internet outages in the Persian Gulf. Several cables traverse the Strait of Hormuz, and the region has previously experienced internet disruptions due to repeated cuts to undersea cables in the Red Sea. Additionally, threats to cables have been issued by Yemen's Houthi forces.
