Developers have submitted a draft Ethereum Improvement Proposal that would let externally owned accounts (EOAs) permanently disable EIP-7702 delegation while retaining their addresses and ability to make standard transactions. According to ChainCatcher, the operation would be irreversible. The draft has not been merged and has not received an EIP number.

Iron Fish announced it will end all remaining support for its network. According to Odaily, the team traced unusual activity involving wIRON and the ChainPort bridge to an inflation vulnerability in the Iron Fish blockchain itself, rather than an issue with the bridge. The vulnerability dates to a Merkle tree implementation code change in early 2019 and involved the calculation of nullifiers, identifiers used to prevent double-spending privacy notes. It allowed an attacker to spend the same note more than once and transfer assets through ChainPort. The team said the code had been included in internal and external audits, but the vulnerability was not detected. Iron Fish has submitted a patch and included a detailed review in a related pull request. The team plans to close and archive the code repository.

Threshold Network temporarily suspended new BTC deposits and tBTC minting through its app, as well as new Bitcoin redemption requests, on October 31. According to ChainCatcher, the measure is a precaution while security maintenance is completed. Pending redemptions may still be paid on the Bitcoin network, but final settlement on Ethereum is paused, and some transactions may be delayed. During the suspension, users should not send BTC to previously generated deposit addresses or initiate new deposits, minting, or redemptions through other interfaces. Users who have already deposited BTC should keep their deposit receipts and transaction hashes, avoid resending transactions to clear pending statuses, and check progress in the app’s Explorer. The suspension does not affect holding, transferring, or using tBTC. Threshold said it will share confirmed updates through official channels and provide an estimated time for normal operations to resume when available.

The trader known as “Set Ten Big Goals First” posted an update on X about his Bitcoin market outlook and positions. According to Odaily, he said he had previously believed Bitcoin would be unlikely to fall below $78,000, and that it had remained above $79,000 until a recent black swan event pushed it lower. He had closed about two-thirds of his long positions near $76,000 to guard against a repeat of the extreme market move on October 11. After observing signs of stabilization over the past two days, he said he had rebuilt a full long position in the $76,000-$78,000 range. He maintained that $58,000 was the bottom of Bitcoin’s current cycle. He also put the first-stage bull-market bottom near $118,000, set a target of about $150,000 for the second rally, and said Bitcoin could reach $120,000 this year.
